MCA Tribute Mix

-

Noha Uhman, Host der Coffee Break For Heroes & Villains-Show, hat eine zweistündige MCA-Tribut-Show aufgenommen.

Nohas Worte:

»No mic breaks for today’s show, just straight Beastie Boy’n it! The news of Adam Yauch’s passing was so heart breaking to me. Like so many people of my generation, we grew up with the Beastie Boys and evolved as they evolved. I remember hearing them on Rap Attack, and I vividly remember my brother Michael playing me Cookie Puss. A few years later in 1986 or ’87 he took me to see them perform. At that show I got to meet the group as well as Russell Simmons, Rick Rubin, Ricky Powell and Dave Skilken (rip).
Years later I’m still a fan of their music as well as their message and specifically the words that MCA spoke. It was so great to see someone say „Hey, hurting people is not right, come along with me“, and people did! They listened and learned. We evolved as they evolved. Instead of being sad and I know it’s hard not to be, but let’s celebrate Adam’s music and life!
The selections picked are less the hits but some cuts that don’t often get heard, some b-sides, some rare tracks and some real goodies. The audio is all over the place due to some of the source material but so what….«
